“achieved that rather amazing goal of being able to make a small and limited world as big as the sky through inventiveness and imagination, something children have the capacity to do and adults too easily forget. Their fantastical car journey is a joy to behold!” – Edinburgh Guide

Henry (John Currivan) and Bucket (Paul Curley) catch the rain

How do friends reconcile when they’ve had their battles, got on each other’s nerves, and even stooped to telling lies?

Barnstorm kicks off  its short UK tour of the acclaimed The Bockety World of Henry & Bucket with two performances in The Barn on 8th May.  The play will be presented at Imaginate Festival in Edinburgh, the egg at Theatre Royal Bath and in the renowned Polka Theatre in London.

Kilkenny performances: 11am and 3pm on Friday 8th May and 6.30pm on Tuesday 2nd June

Tickets: €6 / Family of 4: €20

Bookings: 056 7751266

This delightful play for children aged 4 and older, looks at friendship through a day in the life of two friends who live in a bockety world of discarded objects.

Written and directed by Sarah Argent, in collaboration with Barnstorm, The Bockety World of Henry & Bucket is humorous and rich in visual antics. Through Henry and Bucket’s relationship we can examine what friendship is, what happens if it goes wrong and how you fix it.

Responses to this play have been consistently ecstatic – comments from parents and teachers included ‘pure theatre’, ‘visually imaginative’ and ‘…they haven’t stopped talking about it since.’ Exceptional reviews in Irish Times, Irish Theatre Magazine, The Herald Scotland, Edinburgh Guide (review links at top of this page).

This is a highly entertaining, thought-provoking exploration of friendship for children aged 4+ and their families.
