Communication Through Drama is an education programme that explores different aspects of personal communication using drama methodologies.

Red Square (Butler Gallery’s youth programme) is a young person’s curating project. Barnstorm’s Anna Galligan worked alongside Jean Tormey, (Butler Gallery Education officer) and artist Etaoin Holahan and a group of 16-18 years old who were supported in curating an exhibition from the Butler Gallery collection.

An evening of Playback Theatre on 8th March to celebrate International Women’s Day. Evening performance in the Set Theatre. This Playback Theatre performance was part of a programme of activities in Kilkenny to celebrate International Women’s Day.

In 2011 Barnstorm designed ‘Moving Up’ to look at the thoughts and feelings of 6th class pupils regarding the transition from primary to post-primary education, a crucial time in young people’s lives.

A collaborative drama project with Kilkenny-based visual artists Alan Counihan and Gypsy Ray, the pupils of Johnswell National School and Barnstorm’s Outreach Department in 2010.

The objective of the Create a Story project was to engage with our audience and include their creative input in the development of a piece of Children’s Theatre alongside Barnstorm’s company of actors, musician, playwright, designer, facilitator and director.

Barnstorm regularly runs professional theatre training which can be accessed by local people.An intense prorgamme of Playback Theatre training took place over two weekends – participants travelled from all over Ireland to avail of this training.

A unique community theatre project by, for and about women living in Kilkenny, culminating in a final performance piece of 8 monologues, in June 2006.

In 2005, pupils of Grennan College presented ‘Forward Thorugh The Past, a one-act devised play which was the culmination of an eight-month Reminiscence Project.
